      Blog post macro in excerpt mode ignores the text formatting in blog. It didn't occur in 3.5.9, but it occurs in 4.0. Here's the example of the bug, both 3.5.9 and 4.0.

            I would agree that this was not a great decision. I can see simplifying the formatting, but not respecting hyperlinks kind of sucks hard.

            Suggested solution might be to allow people to set the blog post macro, when configured to show excerpt, to look at a defined excerpt if it exists. This gives people the option to manually simplify the formatting as they wish, if they wish without breaking the entire thing for everyone all the time.

            I find the missing formatting, particularly the removal of hyperlinks, to be a retrograde step.

            There was a conscious decision made to suppress the formatting in except mode but I've heard quite a few times that people feel like this is a bug. In trying to be consistent and WYSIWYG as possible everywhere I think we should change the behaviour to include the formatting.
