Inserting text into HTML macro produces unnecessary empty white lines after copy pasting the highlighted text inside the HTML macro

      Here are the following steps on how to reproduce this bug:

      1. Create a test page in Confluence
      2. Insert a HTML macro
      3. Write some text like: <p>abc</p>
      4. Highlight the whole text and right-click the mouse to copy it
      5. Hit 'Enter' button to go into the next following line
      6. Paste it
      7. You will be seeing an empty white lines following as per this screen shot:

      This problem is only occurring in Confluence 4.0.x and does not happen in Confluence 3.5.x and below. In addition to that, this is a browser related problem since it is only happening in Safari web browser. No problem for Firefox and IE 8 web browser.

            Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog now for quite some time with very little or no progress being made.

            Because this issue is now older than 2 years, has a low priority and has no votes I'm going to close this as won't fix. Unfortunately it is unlikely that we'd be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future.
