Client: Windows 7 32-bit, Mozilla Firefox 6-10, Google Chrome 14+

Screenshots that are taken with the popular screenshot tool "Greenshot" (http://getgreenshot.org) cannot be copy&pasted into the Confluence editor. When such an image is pasted, nothing happens. But the same images can be pasted without problems into other programs like IrfanView, Outlook 2007, Word 2007 or MS Paint.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Install and start Greenshot
      2. Create a new, empty Confluence page
      3. Press Print key to take a screenshot.
      4. The Greenshot image editor appears that contains the screenshot.
      5. Copy the screenshot to clipboard with File | Copy Image to Clipboard.
      6. Switch back to Confluence and press Ctrl+V to paste the image. → Nothing happens!
      7. Verify that the image was indeed in the clipboard by pasting it into MS Paint or any other program.

I followed the instructions here: https://sourceforge.net/p/greenshot/discussion/676083/thread/fda5d2eb/
and it worked. It involved using the expert settings and setting the only clipboard format to bitmap. If there is a better approach, please let me know.

I have to use the approach from Lauri Vasko to paste images into Confluence. I am using Greenshot 1.2.4 Build 10, Firefox 36 and Chrome 40, and Confluence Confluence 5.6-OD-39.

If reproducible, I hope it can be corrected so the extra steps can be avoided.

Thanks for Greenshot - it is a nice tool.

I just noticed that it works now with a more recent version of Greenshot. With Greenshot 1.0.6, Confluence 4.3.3 and Chrome 23, I can paste screenshots in the editor.

I have similar problem with pasting from MS Word.
It is worth to mention that following case works:

            • select image in Greenshot/MS Word and copy it (CTRL+C)
            • open MS Paint and paste image from clipboard (CTRL+V)
            • copy it again to clipboard from MS Paint (CTRL+C)
            • go to confluence page edit mode and paste it (CTRL+V)

Image is added as attachment to page, and included in carets position in page.
What is the difference between pasting from MS Paint and MS Word/Greenshot?

I have the same problem, tested with both Firefox 16.0.2 and Chrome 22.0.1229.94 m.

In the console, when I try to paste a greenshot image, Chrome shows me:

Not allowed to load local resource: file:///C:/Users/greg/AppData/Local/Temp/4qxsmdr5.hph.png

If I try to paste another image (copied via Windows Photo Viewer), Chrome does nothing other than move the caret a bit - but no messages.

If I try to paste any image into Firefox, the console shows shows:

            TypeError: J is undefined
              if(J.substr(0,L.length)===L){I.dom.remove(H[K])                    batch.js (line 1843)

Although to note: Firefox shows that error often while I'm just typing.
