Chinese (Traditional) fonts MingLiu and DFKai-SB are garbled and unreadable in the viewpdf macro

      Confluence PDF previews are not usable for my company. Although some TrueType chinese fonts are OK, MingLiu and DFKai-SB (the two most commonly used fonts in Taiwan) are not readable. Particularly MingLiu (serif) font.

      The fonts are installed on the server and xpdf (on the server) can display them OK.

      From what we've found, these TrueType fonts make heavy use of hinting. We believe that the Office connector is ignoring hinting when generating PDFs. MingLiu renders perfectly when rendered using viewppt from the original PPT file
