The log messages generated by the Confluence evaluation server on Windows XP don't get written to any files. There is a directory created after install and run named "C:\Documents and Settings\XPMUser\Application Data\Atlassian Evaluation\work\confluence\3.3-rc2\confluence-home\logs\output.log", but there are no log files under there. The directory is preventing the log file from being created or written to.

Workaround:

Deleting the output.log directory allows the logs to be written.
