While we don't have a server-side spell checker as requested in CONF-1212 the browser spell checker in Firefox and Safari and Chrome are pretty good. However, the RTE context menu interferes with browser spell checker suggestions. Perhaps there's a way to combine the best of both worlds so that right clicking gives spell check options when a word is misspelled and context menus when it's properly spelled? Maybe there's another way?

Yeah, a new Table menu in the editor with contextual copy and paste options for rows might work (similar to Google Docs/Sites). That's a different feature, though.

Do you want me to rephrase and reopen the issue with that as the goal?

I don't see how this is possible without implementing CONF-1212. Either the browser handles the right-click event, or we do.

If you could provide an example of another editor that does this, I'd be interested to take a look. I've checked Gmail and Google Sites – neither provide a context menu.

Note that this is why the editor context menu is disabled unless a user specifically enables it.
