When previewing or viewing a Confluence QuickNav gadget, if it is unauthenticated (as it is by default), it displays a login button. In IE, the frame in which this button is displayed is too small, obscuring most of the button. The user would not know what to do at this point.

[CONFSERVER-17884] QuickNav gadget login button is missing

This was partly due to the consumer not being authorised (but is in itself an issue - there used to be an error message but now it displays nothing).

If the consumer is authorised, the padlock appears but the button is still missing.

The quicknav gadget login button is now absent in all browsers. This means this gadget now cannot be used for any external instance of Confluence that has anonymous access disabled.

This is a pretty bad issue that could really affect some users ability to understand and use gadgets that require authentication.
Unfortunately, I am told that the logic for resizing the gadget iframe appropriately is pretty complex and therefore we won't risk a fix at this stage making this worse (unless a really really simple solution is invented).

This is probably a duplicate of the problem we see in CONF-17870.

Doesn't seem to happen all the time.

            In IE:
            1. resized to 18px
            2. no resize - 100px

            In Safari
            1. resized to 18px
            2. resized to 69px

            In Firefox
            1. no resize - 100px

            Will look into it further

            It's obscured in Safari too.
