We're running Confluence under Tomcat, on RHEL 5.4 (x86_64), java version "1.6.0_13".
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
The feed URLs produced by the RSS feed builder include all of the metadata used to generate the feed. This is fine for internal use, but we would like to be able to publish a feed URL for end users that will remain static, even if we change the parameters used to generate the feed.
We can certainly solve this problem through an Apache RewriteRule, or through a service like FeedBurner, but there would be many advantages to have the configuration living in Confluence.
I envision a model where the "Space Admin" tab includes a "Feeds" section, where the space administrator can map short names to the URLs produced by the feed builder. Then users could access the feeds as http://confluence.example.com/SPACE/feed/feedname.
