    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

What are the plans for Confluence to support the OASIS Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) TC?

"The OASIS CMIS TC works to standardize a Web services interface specification that will enable greater interoperability of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems. CMIS uses Web services and Web 2.0 interfaces to enable rich information to be shared across Internet protocols in vendor-neutral formats, among document systems, publishers and repositories, within one enterprise and between companies."

Here is information about it http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=cmis

I hope Atlassian will participate and support the interoperability services. This is important so we can use the great features and functionality of Confluence, but have the content reside in our enterprise repositories.

Allowing  CMIS interactions into Confluence would be significantly beneficial

With WebDAV being deprecated on Confluence 7.0, this would be a welcome option. Desktop-based interactions with Confluence-hosted contents is a must-have for office users.

Yes, of course Carry is right. Getting content from Alfresco is nice, but what about exporting content to Alfresco too? If we want to call it "integration" we have to support it both ways.

I'm sure this would make Confluence an even more attractive platform, if users know that their work can also be reused in other systems like Alfresco.

Comment sofar focus on Atlassian as CMIS client displaying content from DM systems like Alfresco.

http://youtu.be/9HckIvjfW7A >> The frontend - presentation and file management

This is a very deep integration - in function and capabilities for Enterprise-level deployments.

DCTM supports CMIS. By supporting CMIS Confluence could integrate DCTM.

We've started an open source project for this along with Alfresco and Sourcesense. Also check out our blog post about the open source project we've started to integrate Confluence and Alfresco. Please contribute or help us recruit contributors!
