After a lot of use I have many many many watches. I really do want to be able to just forget everything and start afresh, removing watches one by one is possible but painfully slow for 100+ entries.

[CONFSERVER-12314] Would like to be able to remove ALL watches with one click.

After having to click unwatch on 100+ pages, this would have been a good feature

This is basic functionality and should be integrated, stock. Pointing your clients at a paid plugin is a slap in the face. They could implement it, why can't the developers of the app.

Watch Remover may once have been a solution for Confluence Server, but its last release dates back to 2014-10-17 and isn't compatible with Confluence 5.10.x.

Personnally, I would prefer a selective multiple-page unwatching instead of a global unwatch-ALL function, so I'll rather place my vote on CONF-8458 Allow for unwatching multiple pages at a time.

Please please please make this a thing. We are unable to add Watch Remover to Atlassian Cloud-based Confluence and as I had migrated all of our wiki docs, I am now a watcher for every single document.

            Hello everyone,

mentioned earlier our add-on Watch Remover https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/it.logontec.dev.watchremover for a quick removal of watches on pages. There have been many compliments on the add-on in the sense of "quick, clear and easy" and a request to create the same thing for the admin.

Today we have released a new version 0.4.0 with this particular feature, that gives the admin the power to cancel watches for any user within Confluence. The administration part of Watch Remover still offers all the functions of the profile part, i.e. stop watching all for a selected user, stop watching all pages that have not been updated for 60+ days and stop watching all pages within a selected space.

Hope you all like it and come up with other suggestions on how to make it even better! Please try, review and give us a feedback.

            Regards,

            Marketa

For those customers using OnDemand/Confluence Cloud, you might try using our recently released addon, Bulk Action Tools:

            https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/bulk-action-tools

Although it cannot remove all watches at once (limitation of the API), it allows you to add/remove page watches from an entire tree of pages, and you can even select the ones you want using checkboxes. So you can at least remove all watches from a space at a time. You can also use this addon to manage labels and move or delete multiple pages at a time. You can find the documentation here:

            https://streamline.atlassian.net/wiki/display/BAT/Bulk+Action+Tools

Try it out, and feel free to give feedback.

Hi Hans, if you are a member of the confluence-administrators group (i.e. not just space admin, but admin over the entire confluence instance), then you can indeed remove watches for other users. I figure if you are a confluence administrator, you should be able to administer confluence; you can already see the content of all pages already, so you should be able to manage all watches as well.

I have successfully used the user macro to remove watches for people who have already left our company, so it should work for you too.

Hi Hans, sorry but no good news from me. You can't remove other people's watches. It's against the basic privacy policy. You just can't (shouldn't anyway) touch other people's business.
Anyway, looking now above on Stephens macro, he says that if you are an administrator, you can delete even other people's watches. Might be a way.
