Sometimes when editing, if the cursor is at the very, very end of a page, pressing backspace will cause the same thing to happen as if I pressed the browser's back button.

This seems to happen sporadically, and I haven't figured out how to precisely reproduce it.

I hear you. I wish I was able to consistently reproduce. If I can find a way, I'll repoen this ticket.

that caret (but people often call it cursor and reuse the same name for mouse pointer).

Unless you have a testcase that can be used to debug this, it will be really difficult for anyone to do anything about this issue (if it really exists).

            Um...

            The flashy horizontal bar.

What do you mean by cursor? The mouse pointer or caret?

Igor: it is generally correct browser behavior for the "back" event to fire if you press backspace. However, it is not correct behavior when the cursor is in a textarea.

            I agree with Don.

I've seen this happen on several websites when I edit a text in text area, click outside of text area (without noticing it) and hitting the backspace button.

Good thing that Confluence periodically saves drafts!

            I'm using Firefox 3.

Note that I am using another product that uses TinyMCE with FF3, and I have not experienced this issue with the other product.

            Hi Aren,

            Thanks for reporting this issue.
I'm going to give Confluence the benefit of the doubt here and blame your browser. Largely because there's been no other report of that and I can't imagine why Confluence would turn a backspace hit into a browser-back. Whereas I know that some browsers do have "back" keyboard shortcuts that involve the backspace key. Hence, I'm closing this issue as unreproducible. Don't worry, closure's not permanent. If other people find this or if you determine the cause, please comment on this issue.

If you could comment on what browser(s) and OS you've seen this on, that would be very helpful.

            Cheers,
            Don
