    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Currently Confluence allows you to attach these new file formats but does not index their content.

      Attached files are an example.

        1. Test.docx
          23 kB
        2. Test Spreadsheet.xlsx

We could not wait and decided upon Alfresco Share.

I have to say that the lack of a quick fix to these problems (indexing new MS formats and viewfile macro not working) is making our decision makers think that Confluence is not a viable option (I work for one of the big oil companies).

We are well into SharePoint deployment, and although the Wiki in SharePoint is very bad, we are at the point where we will probably migrate all the Confluence content to SharePoint.

We are trying to get our team up and running, and with our use of Office 2007, it is making it very difficult to move staff over. They rather use Sharepoint with Office 2007.

It is very disappointing to see that this issue has not been resolved yet. Office 2007 is getting adopted everywhere and one of the nicest features of Confluence (Document/Content Management through WebDav) is eliminated because users can find the file content of Office 2007 files through the search?

Please get this resolved ASAP, thank you!

            Hi all,

I just downloaded and installed the new version of Confluence (v3.0.1) in our test instance. But it seems that 2007 office documents are still not recognized by the viewfile macro. Does this mean that the fix will be included in the next release of Confluence?

            Please advised.

            Thanks in advance.

We really would like the Office 2007 support to be realized as soon as possible. Since the whole company uses Office 2007 the lack of support in Confluence is hurdle for adoption of Confluence.

Specifically it should not only be possible to index Office 2007 files, but also to import them, and possibly even export to them (but that's a lesser priority).

This is a real PITA to have to resave my Office files to have them render in Confluence for the

macro. Any word on addressing this soon? It's already 2 years into Office 07.

            Dear Atlassian,
Is this issue scheduled for 3.0 or not?
MS Office 2010 is already on approach but Confluence still does not support Office 2007.

This is on the roadmap for our next release. That doesn't actually mean it will be in the next release. Just that it's on the schedule.

It is extremely important that Confluence be able to index the content of these Doc Formats.
Can we have a timeline when this will be available?

Very important as its now the default file format for the latest office versions on Mac and PC. And unlike Vista, those versions are actually being adopted...
