Multimedia *.swf files are not able to render in Internet Explorer browser

Having the following markup in a wiki page:

      !<the multimedia file name>!

Would embed the multimedia file onto the page expectedly in the FireFox browser. However, accessing the page via both Internet Explorer 6 and 7 does not render the image at all where the status bar keeps loading.

For example, try the following link in both FireFox browser and Internet Explorer browser:

[CONFSERVER-10305] Multimedia *.swf files are not able to render in Internet Explorer browser

Lily, no it hasn't been tested against Solaris.
David, there could be issues using it with Confluence 2.6.2. If you can, I suggest upgrading to 2.7.1. Otherwise please contact support.atlassian.com and they will help you.

Would there be any issues with using this jar file with Confluence 2.6.2?

One more question - has this new jar been tested with Solaris 10?

            Don,

Oddly, one of the nodes in the cluster had both 3.17 and 3.18 in it's
classpath. I removed the 3.17 version from that node and restarted
confluence. The issue appears to be resolved now. Thanks a ton!

            Lily,

Please check which version of atlassian-renderer is loaded in your classpath. You can see this by going to http://confluencebaseurl/admin/classpath.action

            Lily,

For a standalone install confluence-2.7.1-std/confluence/WEB-INF/lib is the correct location. Did you remove the existing confluence-2.7.1-std/confluence/WEB-INF/lib/atlassian-renderer-3.17.jar ?

            Don,

Could you please specify the path to the atlassian-renderer-3.*.jar
file? I stopped confluence, deployed the new library into
            confluence-2.7.1-std/confluence/WEB-INF/lib and restarted confluence,
and the problem still persists. Perhaps I've deployed it into the wrong
directory. The mark up still says <param name">. I've even tried
clearing the work directory and flushing the cache.

            Thanks,
            Lily
