Description
Issue Summary
Upon trying to publish a page, the following error is displayed:
You can't edit this page right now. This page is so popular, you've reached the maximum number of simultaneous editors
This issue is triggered if the "edit" mode of a page is kept open overnight or for a few days (I.E. while the computer is in sleep mode), causing the same user to be displayed as the same collaborator editing the page multiple times:
Steps to Reproduce
- Open a page and edit.
- Leave in edit mode overnight or for a few days, while the computer is in sleep mode.
- Go back to the page in question.
- Try to publish it.
Expected Results
The page shows only one session against the user who has it open, allowing it to be published.
Actual Results
The page shows more than one edit session despite that only one browser tab is open, avoiding it to be published as it reaches the maximum number of simultaneous editors.
Workaround
There are different workarounds for this bug:
- Reload the page;
- Force close the browser;
Once this is done, editing the page should not display the same collaborator editing the page multiple times, allowing it to be published. However, the user performing the workaround must be the one that has the duplicate avatars as it is associated with the browser's session.
