Image size increases when the page is exported in the PDF format

      Issue Summary

Image size increases when the page is exported in the PDF format

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a page
      2. Add an image to the page (let it remain in its original size)
      3. Publish the page
      4. Export the page as a PDF file

      Expected Results

The size of the image should be its original size.

      Actual Results

      Size of the image increases.

      Workaround

If the images are centrally aligned:
      Resize the image.

      If the images are left-aligned:
      1. Centre the image
      2. Increase the size
      3. Left align the image
      4. Publish the page

Alternatively, add space before and after each enlarged image.

            Hi skhanna@atlassian.com ,

Can you please provide us a test tenant reproducing the issue? I am not able to get reproduce it on my end.

For anyone interested, we use a quick workaround by adding the following css line in the PDF stylesheet (globally or per space):

            img {max-width: 100%;}

This makes sure the images doesn't get cut off as the max-width will follow the PDF page limits.

This bug has been around for a while. Does Anybody at Atlassian can send an update.
On our side, it’s not all images that are affected by the bug, only some with but no clue why these and not others.

This takes a few hours of fixing each time we need to output a PDF to a customer.
It may seem a minor bug for Atlassian, but when we spent a few hours here and there correcting Atlassian bugs, it is a big waste of money at the end of the month!

Currently, this is a serious issue.
We are using Confluence to create reports and whenever we extract them to PDF, the images are cropped and enlarged, which is very problematic for our work.
We're having to manually fix it every time using a workaround, so I'm hoping Atlassian can fix it sooner rather than later.
            Thank you.

Hi, this impact is affecting our Marketing team's work. We need to export files into word to adapt and change it back to a pdf. When exporting, image data are not shown correctly or missing.  We need those  to show them to our B2B clients in order to sell our games. Please support in this matter.

            Many thanks and best regards,

            Thu Yen

This is also happening on my end, about a third of the Images I am trying to export automatically become huge (they are also in a Table, which means they are very tall, but Cut to be very narrow to fit the width of the Column, resulting in only a very thin strip in the middle of the Image being visible.

A Fix would be very appreciated!

I can also confirm, this is an active bug on my side. It happens only with some images, even if all images added to the page are identical.
