Auto formatting specific strings to emoji characters is nice in an instant messaging app but not always welcome in a documentation platform like Confluence.
When creating technical documentation, for example, units are often placed in parentheses after text to indicate the units used for a value. Attempting to state that something is expressed as a percentage has us writing things like "Value Name (%)". The issue with the new editor is that every time the units in the above example become 😵.
Disabling all auto-formatting to get rid of this annoyance is not an ideal situation because the other shortcuts (like ## for headings etc.) are actually useful.
