Issue Summary
No matter the available space on the page, the livesearch macro will be too small on the new editor, cutting the placeholder text.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a page with the new editor
- Insert a livesearch macro
- Select large size
- Paste this to the placeholder text: "Search onboarding documentation"
- Save the macro and publish the page
Expected Results
The macro should be displayed on the page the same way it's shown on the preview window
Actual Results
The macro will be to short on the page, cutting the placeholder text.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

[CONFCLOUD-69369] Livesearch macro is too short on the new editor
This issue is still not fixed. Livesearch macro looks good in preview but way too small in on page display for both medium and large.
Something changed with the code since Sept 14, 2022 when Koji said this was fixed. They are not nearly the same between edit and published view.
Hi everyone - I am a frontend engineer here at Atlassian. First, thank you very much for reporting this issue. I'm posting here to give an update that the Live Search Macro (medium and large) is now consistent across both the editor and published view, including the width of the search bar, how the placeholder is displayed, the visibility of the Search button, etc. Please let us know if you have any comments or questions, and of course please continue to let us know if you run into anything else in Jira, Confluence, etc.!
Atlassian fix this NOW !!!. You released a new version that attempted this, now it just flows and overlaps text onto next line, with a horrible overlap. Seriously is 7 years not long enough to fix the Livesearch ? pretty important feature wouldnt you say ?
We also have issues with the searchbar size in Confluence.
