Code Snippet doesn't add <br /> and let all the content on a same line after publishing the comment

      Issue Summary

      When typing a comment and using the Code Snippet/Code Block macro, instead of the macro identifies the range of the comment width and add a <br /> (line break) when it reaches its end, it actually keeps your content on a single line.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go to any page on your instance and add a comment;
      2. In the comment text box, call the Code Block/Code Snippet macro;
      3. Start typing a random text until you make sure it gets to the next line while editing it;
      4. Publish the comment

      Expected Results

      As it was when we were editing the comment, the text that exceeded the comment box's width continued in the next line.

      Actual Results

      All the text keep in a single line.

      Workaround

      When you note that the content reached the end of the text box, hit the enter keyboard key.

            Hey 7cb2d63acd15,

            Thanks, it sounds like that is the Code Snippet as the Code Block macro explicitly says "Code Block" when in edit mode.

            I am trying to reproduce your case and unfortunately I am unable to do so.

            Out of curiosity, if you're just using only plain text have you tried to use the Code formatting instead of the Code Snippet macro? It will provide a similar look to the text, but only one line at a time and respects the word wrapping when the content is too big for the container. You can access it from the "..." menu next to the bold and italic buttons.

            Thanks Richard!
            I am not sure, how would I check that?

            Edit: When I paste into the chat I get a dropdown to choose language and it shows ActionScript, AppleScript, C++. CSS etc. Does that help? We need to post plain text, can we set it to do that in this confluence instance?

            Hi 7cb2d63acd15,

            Sorry to hear that this workaround did not work for you. For my own knowledge in assistance with triaging this, is the macro for the code block your using named Code Snippet or Code Block?

            Hi guys! I would like to make an observation: the workaround suggested it not functional for our use case. Try posting several paragraphs of text from a document into the comment section and saving. Now re-open and try to add line breaks. What's happening for me is that it does not save all the line breaks, and then freezes when I try to go back in and correct it again.

            Looking forward to a fix soon
