      Problem Definition

Taking the example of inline comments inside an Expand macro.
If you are mentioned in an inline comment that is placed over some text located inside an Expand macro, the link from the View comment email notification will indeed open the inline comment thread, but it will not expand the macro therefore not displaying the text on which the comment is placed.

      Suggested Solution

When coming from a link that redirects to the inline comments, it would be great if the Expand macro is automatically expanded so we can also see the text where the comment is placed.

      Workaround

Currently, the user is redirected to the macro unexpanded and the inline comment is displayed.
Therefore, it is still required to expand the macro manually and look for the text where the inline comment is placed.

Note: This behavior applies to headings as well, as links to pages with headings would also not expand.

[CONFCLOUD-61867] Auto-expand Expand macros when coming from a link

Currently we use a lot of the expand elements on our pages. When a user searches for something and clicks the page link it just brings them to the top of a page that could include 20+ expand elements. This is not overly helpful as the user now needs to open each one to try and find the content they are looking for.
It would be ideal to have searches bring the user to the correct expand element and open it for them.

This would be a fantastic feature.  I am currently writing detailed documentation and I am using the UI Expand Macro, with embedded steps to outline instructions for a deployment team.  I have three sections in which I am detailing a complete process in section 1, then in sections 2 and 3 want to link back to some of the steps outlined in Section 1 so I do not have to have duplicate text in each section.  Adding this feature will allow me to link to the collapsed section 1 and section 1 would expand to show the steps I am linking to.
