      Summary

      By using a code like this:

      {livesearch:spaceKey=exp}

      In the "Look and Feel > Sidebar, header and footer > Sidebar" of a Space, it's possible to enable the Livesearch macro to appear in the sidebar of Confluence for this particular Space.

      However, the behaviour exhibited by this macro in both the page and the sidebar is consistently different.
      For example, by using the Livesearch directly in a page, as the user types, search results are shown in a dropdown menu.
      The same behaviour does not occurs in the macro if it's located in the sidebar.
