Use of Templates in Blog Posts

 👋 Thank you all for the feedback! My name is Avni, one of the PMs working in the Atlassian editor team. We value and appreciate your feedback and are excited to announce that we just shipped a quick and easy workaround to this issue.

Today, if you are looking to use a template in your blog post, simply head to the editor to create a blank page, select a template you're interested in using and fill out your content. Now, you have the option to either publish the page directly as a blog or publish as a page now and then convert it to a blog later. Check out this article I wrote for more information and visuals on how to do this!

However, we also understand that it’s not fair to keep this issue open for so long without more regular updates from our side. For now, we will be closing this ticket because we believe that this workaround will unblock you all in the meantime and are generally proud of its overall experience. We know we’re not “done” building, and will continue the work needed to ship the ability for you to use a template directly when you create a blog.

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback on this issue. We agree, having templates in blog posts is something that is useful.

This is something we would like to implement, but don't have any plans for this at the moment. We will update this issue as we make further progress on it.
