      Is it possible to specify a default language (preferably in the Administration area) for the site and also override that language in specific spaces (preferably in the Space Administration area)?

      Being able to do this would allow a single install to deliver, for example, French and English versions of a space:

      http://bach-academie-de-montreal.com

      If the property was available via a helper, it would make localisation of macros and themes adapt to the space they are used on.

      Ideally, the language should also be output in the <html> tag at the top of every page, for example:

      <html lang="en">

      More information on that can be found here:

      http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/struct/dirlang.html#h-8.1

      One of the key benefits here is that it would improve not only help with search engines, but more importantly it would improve accessibility of Confluence for people using screen readers, etc.

      Another thing to consider is allowing people to define their preferred languages (in preference order) within their profile - this could also be used to order the list of spaces on the dashboard, etc.
