Description
NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding bug report.
Summary
When the service desk agents group is deleted from User Management in Cloud, it's not deleted in Confluence and no new Confluence users can login.
We are also noticing in some cases when group seems to have been deleted without service desk ever being enabled, users may not be aware that groups have been deleted but will see the symptom that newly created confluence users can't login.
Steps to Reproduce
- Delete the service-desk-agents group in user management
- Create a new user in user management
- Give the new user Confluence Application Access
- Log into Confluence as new user
Expected Results
User can login and use confluence
Actual Results
User gets error
Not Permitted You are not permitted to perform this operation.
The below exception is seen in the confluence log:
org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: update or delete on table "cwd_group" violates foreign key constraint "fk_group_attr_id_group_id" on table "cwd_group_attribute" Detail: Key (id)=( <some ID number> ) is still referenced from table "cwd_group_attribute".
Workaround
Log a support request with the Atlassian Cloud Support team, who will need to perform maintenance on Confluence. This will involve around 20 minutes of down-time for Confluence so please advise when this can be performed when you log the ticket.
