Our company often need to translate documents in different languages. It will really be great if Confluence has the ability to translate documents and attachments in different languages.

            Y -
You can do this with Enterprise Translations Hub for Atlassian Confluence.
It exactly fits your use case and more.

            Hi Y,

This is not something which would fit into the Confluence product, which is an enterprise wiki for writing and editing documents not automatically translating them. However, you should be able to find other software that can do this for you.

I know Google and AltaVista have free translation technologies, and probably sell betters ones commercially. That might be a good start.

There's also the potential to integrate these technologies as a Confluence plugin. If you know a particular technology that would be good to integrate, you could suggest a plugin idea on our plugin wishlist.

I'll close this issue as "Won't fix", because we won't be adding any translation functionality into the Confluence product itself.

            Regards,
            Matt

Yes, CONF-1076 is what I am looking for but also the functionality in Confluence to translate automatically a document to another language. Example give Confluence an English document as input, send it through the translator plugin and it generates a translated French document as output. I am not sure if this can be part of Confluence.

I suspect what you're looking for is CONF-1076. Please let me know if that's the case.

            Hi Y,

What do you mean by "translate documents and attachment in different languages"? Can you give an example of what you would like Confluence to do?

            Regards,
            Matt
