Allow users who upload an attachment to delete that attachment

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

I would like to be able to delete the attachments I uploaded.
There are however no "Remove" links there, as I'm guessing I don't have the correct permissions.

If a user has uploaded an attachment, they should automatically be allowed to remove them?

Thanks for the response @Joris. It feels, however, that these permissions should be tied. If I can upload and update a file, I should also have permissions to remove it (the files that I "own").

I also have to reiterate that I was surprised that dragging and dropping a page beneath another (with the intent of making them nested) not only didn't work, but created a link of a page back to itself as an attachment without asking if that was what I wanted to do. But that sounds like a different bug to file.

@Bri Gipson I think you simply don't have the permission to do so then. The feature is definitely in Confluence since 2016, whether to use/allow it or not is up to your administrator now

I don't see how this is resolved. While thinking that I could drag-and-drop a page beneath another one (silly me!) Confluence decided to make that page's link an attachment to its own page. It effectively created a .url file attachment to my page. I tried to remove it and there was no feature or function or button or capability to do so. All I could do is "edit", which didn't work. I resorted to downloading the .url file, editing it in Sublime and re-uploading it with comments warning others of Confluence's behavior. All I want to do is delete an attachment that Confluence has labeled me as creating (which I did not).
