• We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Attach image to page1
      2. Edit page1 and embed the page: Unable to render embedded object: File (image) not found.
      3. Move the image to page2
      4. View page1 > Unable to render embedded object: File (harbour.jpg) not found.

[CONFSERVER-9227] Moving an attachment does not update embedded images

This will be fixed in the upcoming Confluence 4.0. It is already implemented in the early access releases of Confluence 4.0.

As Matt pointed out with the first comment on this issue, this is an enhancement and not a bug.

            Hi Christopher,

you might be hitting a different issue which was fixed in confluence 3.0.1 as you are not moving an attachment(as mentioned in the description to this issue) but rather moving a page.

            Anatoli.

I had this issue with Confluence 3.0.0_01.

            • Created page in Space A.
            • Page has been edited in Space A several times, without issue.
            • Page was moved to Space B.
            • Once page was moved to Space B, images/attachments are now broken. If the attachment (example: jpg) was embedded in the page, the image is now broken. If you visit the attachment page, the information regarding each attachment is there. However if you click on the attachment to view the file, you receive the error message:

The attachment you were trying to download could not be found in the attachment file store. Either the file has been removed manually or there was an error in removing the record of the attachment from Confluence.

If this attachment is no longer required you can remove it from Confluence on the attachments page. Otherwise, you will need to attach a new copy

Edit: I should probably add to this that it happened when I was transferring around 280 pages, one by one right after another. And it was very hit or miss, happening to roughly 30% of the pages that I moved.

            This is replicable in 2.10.2

            Steps to replicate:

            1. Add image and pdf to Page 1
            2. Embed image and add link to pdf via wiki markup
            3. Move image and pdf to new page via Attachments > Edit

pdf link will update correctly, however embedded image throws Unable to render embedded object: File (test.jpg) not found.

... I suggest to add a testcase as it is a core feature

Did this work in the past? Sounds like an enhancement to extend refactoring support to image markup?
