When inserting a table using the Rich Text Editor, the popup's width is full-screen (please see screenshot)

[CONFSERVER-9099] the 'Insert Table' popup is full-screen wide

The table pop-up code has been corrected and the default width is now approximately 380 pixels, which should be significantly more appealing.

Sorry, I was wrong. This wasn't in fact caused by the missing stylesheet; the popup width is still wide after this fix.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.7 and ok yes, it does have the problem. Guess I didn't think it was because the window that pops up in my monitor actually fits to the width of the screen, where the one in IE is just 4 times wider.

Actually it does happen with Firefox BUT:

            • the pop-up is BIGGER than the screen size on Windows NT5.1 SP1 with UA Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.8.1.7) Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7 (seen on a 1280 width screen, it's even worse with smaller screen sizes)
            • the pop-up covers the entire screen width with Firefox on a Mac OS 10.4.10 computer.

It happens on both FireFox and IE for me as well. FireFox 2.0.0.6 & IE 7.0.5730.11. Things like this make the editor look like it is not a serious product. and make adoption by non-technical people more difficult sell.

The issue is literally twice as bad for me - I use two monitors and it spans both of them.

Same issue here on 2.5.6 and 2.5.7. But strangely it doesn't happen with Firefox, only IE. Sounds like the javascript that pops open the window needs to allow end-user resizing?

I am also seeing this behavior. I first noticed it when upgrading from 2.5.4 to 2.5.5. I have downgraded to 2.5.4 because of this bug. I have installed a development server with 2.5.5 and (importing my data from the production server) before adding any plugins. I can not upgrade until this is fixed.
