It has data, but the compressed folders show it as empty.

      can be unzipped in cygwin
      and works on a Mac

[CONFSERVER-767] html export zip appears empty as XP compressed folder

            David,

I've created CONF-1249 to look into the ZIP file creation issues. I know we've had problems with XP unzipper in the past with JIRA, I'll poll them for their knowledge on it.

            Cheers,
            Mike

This is just annoying, and means that confuence tech support (me), has to go up to the third floor, and install winzip.

It will prevent expansion of the product outside of the geek community (this feature does not appear to work on windows XP).

I hope it's the empty folder problem as proposed in the previous

I notice that in 7-Zip, the contents are accessible but you first have to open the empty-named folder. In other words, the path to the files is //entities.xml instead of /entities.xml.

I tried restoring today and got an exception that entities.xml was not in the ZIP. When I made a new ZIP with rational paths, it worked.

So I think it's worth making your ZIPs contain files at / instead of //.

Unfortunately I think this is a problem with XP's explore feature and zip files created with Java.

As a workaround, use WinZIP - it opens fine. Bloody XP!
