Confluence users with eyesight disabilities cannot use the browser's accessibility controls (e.g. text size control) to make the page body text larger, because Confluence uses fixed rather than relative font sizes. The use of fixed font sizes violates almost every existing standard and/or guideline on web site accessibility.

            Not quite.
If I am in FireFox then enlarging works but instead of wrapping text it creates horizontal scroll bar which is very undesirable.

Evidently, some other popular wikis have gotten this right. The two folks who have mentioned this issue to me have pointed out that MediaWiki and DocuWiki use relative font sizes and they seem to be consistent enough across browsers.

Unfortunaetly, specifying pixel sizes is the only reliable way to get consistent font sizes across browsers.

On the other hand, while fixed-size fonts can not be scaled in Internet Explorer, every other web browser scales them fine.
