As a matter of fact, the workaround/solution given by manuel.guzman1611441019 works! Thanks a lot!

Jira could fix this very quickly because it seems to be a really simple bug

            Have a nice day!

I just succeeded to create a space with a key different than the default. Here what I did:

            1. Create Jira project, change the default key to the desired one
            2. Go to create new space in Confluence
              1. Select the software project created in step 1
              2. Change the key to the one desired (I only tested with the same key than the one used in the project in step 1)
              3. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT STEP: move the focus to a different field (do not stay in the key field). In my case I clicked in the "description" field
              4. Click "create"

That's it. In my case, I continue to receive the error if I click "create" after changing the key and without moving to other field.

I'm using the cloud version of Jira and Confluence.

            Hope this helps

This problem also affects the server version of Confluence. It creates big trouble in our company. Please provide a solution,.

Same here and same remark than manuel.guzman1611441019

Why removing "Create a linked Confluence space" at first place? :/

Same for me, currently setting up everything for the migration from local server to cloud, and this block currently setup...

Please raise the priority to some high lewel

It is now impossible to create a new space with a key different from the default proposed by default. This blocks the environment to work as before removing the option (on Feb27/2017) "Create a linked Confluence space" (by havng the same key for JIRA project and Confluence space).

I think the priority should be raised to high
