[CONFSERVER-45907] Drafts not viewable under drafts

Note, this bug and the functionality described relating to 'Recently worked on' only applied in 6.0 or later with collaborative editing enabled.
The existing Drafts page found under the user icon in the top right of the screen will eventually go away.
All 'drafts' (never published) and 'unpublished changes' (page with unpublished edits by you) will show in your 'recently worked on' tab of the Dashboard.
briankrohn, it sounds like there may be an issue with your instance. So long as you actually enter text into the draft, or when editing a published change then it should appear in 'Recently worked on'.
If for some reason this is not working in your instance then I suggest contacting support

Neither Drafts nor Unpublished changes work on my 6.4.3 instance.  If I edit a page, let it auto-save as a draft, go to Recently Worked On, it doesn't show as either.

            Drafts != Unpublished Changes

            • I think the Drafts view text is misleading when it reads: "When you edit a page but don't publish the changes, a draft is created."

Should it not read:   "When you create a new page, but don't publish it (the changes), a draft is created."

It is only new pages never published that are considered 'Drafts'. (or that is what I am discovering in our testing)

If you edit an existing page, and Close/Keep Draft - it does not show in drafts, but does show as "Unpublished Changes" in the "Recently worked on" view. Which is good!

            • Could the Drafts view be modified to include "Drafts" AND "Unpublished Changes"?

I see inconsistent results.  All the Drafts do not always show in the drafts view. We are currently testing all changes up to release 6.4.2 (currently at 6.1.4).

Recently worked on - looks good!

            DRAFTS view - missing one.

That's really good thanks! We've been waiting! I will check it out!!

Like I said above Now all you need is a little color coded "track" changes a la MS Word and we'll be all set! (and yes we do use the Talk Macro)

            Hey no harm in asking!

            Hi all,

We've implemented a new feature in 6.4 which we believe resolves this pain point.

Drafts now appear in Recently worked on (in addition to appearing in Drafts). They'll also have a lozenge to indicate the page is in draft status. If another contributor publishes the draft, the page will persist in Recently worked on, enabling the original contributor to easily find it.

Take a look at our 6.4 release notes for more info.

            Thanks!

Any update on fixing this? This is a show-stopper for us, also.

We can't collaborate one docs, because people are losing work, because drafts disappear.

Good luck. I went round and round on this.

Atlassian say that they are looking to list drafts in "My Dashboard" at some point this year. For us the benefits of upgrading far outweighted the negative of this.

I thought our users would freak out out about this obvious bug - or at least Atl  should delete the "drafts" item from the navigation because it doesn't function - but it's not been the problem/complaint generator from our users I thought it would.

Frankly what does freak them out is not having comprehensive AUTOMATIC catalogue management system, by which I mean identifying, managing/organizing and tracking versions of pages, uploaded documents, comments and Bitbucket source above simple labelling. This is a requirement for auditing the integrity of work posted. I've seen zero progress on this in the last 5 years.

Also the new Colab editing is sorely in need of the google and word "track changes" functions to make it a real collab tool.  I guess one step at a time and I would hope someone is working on this. Make no mistake, I'm still a big fan of confluence.

Seeing this here as well, after upgrading from 5.9.3 to 6.1.3.

I can create a page > edit that same page adding some content > close the editor > select 'Keep Draft' > select my profile > Drafts, it shows no drafts found.

A re-index does nothing to solve this either.

This is a very high impact big, and needs serious attention.

            Hello Dev Team,

One our customers opened **https://getsupport.atlassian.com/browse/CSP-203315 and reported an issue with how users can't easily see unpublished drafts within a collaborative editing environment.

Could you let us know the status and estimated delivery date for including any new feature which would reduce this friction point for customers?

            Thanks very much...

            Cheers,
