When using HTML macro (which is disabled by default) and we paste certain HTML and javascript on it the preview screen is showing a different result when the page is saved.
STEPS TO REPLICATE THE BUG
- Install Confluence 5.10.x
- Login to Confluence as admin
- Navigate to Confluence admin >> Add-ons
- Search for Confluence HTML Macros and enable the modules below
- The html (html-xhtml)
- The html-include (html-include-xhtml)
- Create a page
- Include the HTML macro in the page
- Paste the HTML source containing JS/CSS
EXPECTED RESULT
You will see that the layout is nicely formatted in preview and after saving the page
ACTUAL RESULT
Preview shows nicely formatted page but saving the page removed some of the HTML code.
