It just became crystal clear – the rich text markup editor is eeeevil!
In a flash, I realized that this piece of much requested featuredom has the potential to be the downfall of Confluence.
What was the flash, the insight, the epiphany, that leads me to such a grim outlook, you ask?
It went like this:
"Oh geez, this effin' editor is effin' up my effin' simple wiki markup just like effin' Frontpage 1.0 and effin' MS Word used to do to my HTML!!!!!"
As soon as anyone edits simple pages with that beast, there will be all sorts of dreck – slash \ escaped chars, extra spaces added where it wants them and I don't, newlines randomly stripped from where I wanted them.... human sacrifice, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!
Oh unhappy day.
Please tell me that the rich editor can be turned on/off on a per space basis - pleeeease at least tell me that.
