      Hello,
      We have published an RSS feed from Confluence, and the central IT department on campus, who will be configuring their system to read our RSS feed reports a problem to me:

      "I went ahead and defined your test feed indicated below in our test instance and it's not rendering properly. I see one possible reason for that problem. If you view the source of the feed, the second line reads:

      <rss version="0.92">

      so the portal is trying to render it using a .92 stylesheet, but looking at the content, it looks more like rss version 2.0. Can you get confluence to specify rss version 2.0 in the header? "

      Can this update be performed?

            [CONFSERVER-4240] RSS feed needs be version 2.0 instead of 0.92

            Jay,

            This has been addressed in Confluence 1.5 which is still in development. There is a RSS builder that allows you to build rss 1.0, 2.0 and even ATOM formatted feeds. In the mean time we suggest trying to create or update the style for 0.92.

            Cheers,
            Dave

            The department administrator on campus responds to your question:
            "Well, that's kind of hard to answer. If you go to http://uportaltest.cit.cornell.edu (ignore the cert warnings) and subscribe to "Kuali Procurement and Payables" you can see how it's rendering. It's likely the problem is in a stylesheet (it came out OK when I ran it through a validator too).

            Can you generate a different version – say rss version 1.0?"

            I followed up with a phone call and they have stylesheets 1.0, 2.0, and "universal" styles loaded. Below is information so you can see what is going on

            Jay,

            Could you let us know what aspect of the feed makes it invalid as 0.92 – various validators (e.g. http://rss.scripting.com/) seem happy with it.

            Thanks,
            Tom
