    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Confluence/JIRA administrators get frustrated, when they need to do the same thing differently in Confluence than in JIRA:
To add an announcement banner in confluence you can do the following things:

In JIRA you simply set the corresponding administration option: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+an+Announcement+Banner

It would be best if Confluence provides the same administration option as JIRA (and gets as well the same updates/improvements for that feature).

      Atlassian Update - September 2018

With the introduction of Read-only mode in version 6.10 (release notes), Data Center customers can now also show a custom banner message (with and without read-only mode). Please note that this functionality is not natively available for Server instances. At this time you may use one of the workarounds above.

      Cheers,

      Adam Barnes - Confluence PM

Jack - It's one of my favorite apps. I had already written a review back in August 2018 (starts Brilliantly simple solution...).

We have a full test environment of JSD and Confluence so it's essential that we have a warning banner on both!

Really nice to read that the application I developed more than a year ago is still useful
Feel free to write a review if you think we deserve a few kind words

            Regards.

Agreed James, and furthermore, why this would be implemented in Confluence Datacenter – and not in Server?

But until this becomes part of the product, Jack Nolddor's free app does the job nicely.

I would like to protest the closing of this issue as status: resolved, Resolution: Fixed, and Fix Version: 6.10.0.

It is deceptive to your server customers as they see the issue is implemented in the release documents only to discover that in this issue it is not actually implemented in server but in datacenter. Additionally, you are using Confluence Server tickets for Confluence Datacenter which are apparently two completely different products.
Please take this ticket out of the release notes for Confluence Server as it was not released in 6.10.0

Please do not use Confluence Server tickets for Confluence Datacenter as they are two different products and leads to confusion.

            Respectfully,

            A paying customer
