On Confluence Cloud, Japanese characters on MS Office Word docs are displayed as square characters

Summary

On Confluence Cloud, Japanese characters on MS Office Word docs are displayed as square characters when thumbnail view and expand view are used. However, MS Office Word macro renders those characters correctly.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Attach japanese.docx to a page on Confluence Cloud

Expected Results

Japanese characters are rendered correctly

Actual Results

Japanese characters are displayed as square characters

Notes

• Those characters are displayed as square characters when thumbnail view and expand view are used, however they are displayed correctly when MS Office Word macro is used
• On Confluence Server (not Cloud), the problem does not happen if Japanese font files are installed on OS and JVM as instructed in Non-ASCII Characters display as Square Characters in Confluence

Please use MS Word macro instead
