Description
I spent about half a hour writing additional for a Wiki page on Confluence, only to have my session silently time out on the server during this time. When I clicked the save button, it redirected me to a login page. After I re-entered my credentials, my changes were gone. Hitting the back button in the browser didn't help. During the time that I was working, Confluence said in the bottom right corner that it was saving drafts, yet when I looked at my drafts on the server there was nothing there.
It's simply unacceptable that enterprise software of this sort is losing customers' data. If you're not capable of persisting the changes throughout a login, then you should at the very least give users the opportunity to copy their changes to the clipboard before navigating away from the page.
