I opened this ticket in behalf of a customer that wants the Glossary plugin to be available in Confluence Cloud.

[CONFSERVER-37580] Add Glossary plugin to the list of Atlassian Cloud Add ons

Addin my vote here for this feature to be prioritized soon!  This is a very fundamental and helpful capability for a wide variety of use cases in Confluence.  The lack of a glossary functionality today means that all other documentation i create is lacking in fundamental background information for people who are new to my organization or industry.

A cloud-based glossary is badly needed. More businesses, (particularly start-ups), are utilizing the cloud, not their own servers.

As we've established there's a need (qualified, though not yet quantified), let's take a closer look at what we're talking about here.

First up, fellow Aussies at [Sparx Systems|http://www.sparxsystems.com] have this capability in their "Enterprise Architect" product.

Next, most of the functionality is already within the Confluence and JIRA products, since they are capable of in-line resolution of data items. E.g. Linking JIRA user stories with Confluence pages, people or other data entities.

Finally, if the Confluence product manager(s) want to speak to actual customers, to assess the potential RoI on this, I'm sure many Agile coaches like myself would be delighted to have a conversation, over Skype / Zoom, etc.

Let's get this issue fixed and put to bed, please!

            +1

Confluence has been in place at my last 3 roles (over @ 5 years). Each of them requires Data Governance, a Data Dictionary and a Glossary.

Each time we've had to maintain something separate from Confluence which detracts from its purpose massively due to having a Cloud based instance.

I'm still surprised this is still an issue waiting to be addressed

+1 from me too. When working at companies in the past with server installs of Confluence I found this is incredibly useful for maintaining domain lexicons and preventing talking at cross-purposes. This is functionality that's a real pain to do without this plugin (and the experience of any workaround is never going to be as good or as capable).
