      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Starting with Confluence 5.7 displaying recently updated attachements, links the file name with the new file preview, which is OK for supported previewable file types.
      It does not make sense to link a non-previewable attachment with a preview functions. This should be downloaded on first click.
      Therefore I suggest either

      • (1) a filter only linking previewable files for preview and all others for download or
      • (2) adding a (optional) filter to the macro to generate a preview link, a download link or both.
