Observed Behavior
You will see an error "Could not save the comment"
Expected Behavior
The user should be able to save the comment
Workaround
Use different browser such as Google Chrome and Mozilla firefox
You can force Confluence to insert a non-breaking space simply by inserting two spaces between a word.
From that point (and I concur this has only started happening within the past few days), it isn't possible to save an inline comment, even though you can copy the content to a new page and save inline comments (one or two before it also stops).
Even if you delete the entire contents of the page and then add back a single word or two, the page continues to throw up an error when trying to add an inline comment.
So, it appears a non-breaking space breaks it, and it stays broken, even after the non-breaking space is removed.
Curiously, I have found other users may be able to add a comment before they experience the same error.
Odd.
