As an administrator, I would like to be able to set the default personal/global space permissions to include our group of administrators and restrict what other users can do (such as blogging) so that when a user creates a personal space it automatically has this permissions structure. Most of our users do not understand the structure of permissions and spaces and have accidentally added a blogpost to another user's personal space because those permissions are default.

Thanks for your comments and feedback on this issue. In Confluence Data Center 7.3, we released a set of features relating to advanced permissions management for easier administration that may help with the use cases raised here. We understand that once your site reaches a certain size, permissions management can be a challenge. We now provide the tools you need to manage, troubleshoot, and audit permissions.
Although, setting a default permission scheme for personal spaces is not resolved, these new features may make it easier to diagnose issues and fix them. In the interests of being open, we have decided to close this issue as we won’t be addressing it in a more comprehensive way in the foreseeable future.
