We often use the JIRA issues macro to embed tasks & issues on Confluence Pages. By doing so, we often include the component column.
If we insert a JIRA macro for a certain project and add the column, we cannot sort for the component. Only the standard columns are sortable.
We would love to see this feature on our Confluence for other columns such as component column as well!

We regret to inform you that due to limited demand, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now. Sometimes potentially valuable tickets do get closed where the Summary or Description has not caught the attention of the community.
