Chrome/Firefox/Safari ignores auto play option on multimedia macro

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

Using those browsers in Windows, Linux, and OSX when a .mp4/.mp3 file is embedded with auto play unchecked, it still plays automatically. In other browsers it does not happen, waiting for the play click as expected.

      Tested with:

      • Safari Version 8.0.6 (10600.6.3)
      • Chrome Version 42.0.2311.135 (64-bit)
      • Firefox Version 38.0.1

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Insert an .mp4 video in a Confluence page.
      2. Let the "auto play" checkbox unchecked.
      3. Open the page in any of those browsers.

      Workaround (Chrome):

Use the Disable HTML5 Autoplay to disable all HTML5 Autoplay in Chrome

The "disable autoplay" does not work on Confluence. Can you please fix this issue?

I am still having this problem in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. I can't expect my users to install this plugin. I don't think this resolved.

I've just tried using this macro and it doesn't work with Confluence. There's a message on the plugin saying:

"Currently disabling: Nothing The extension cannot run on this page"

Which is very unhelpful, I expect better from Google....

            **UPDATE**

I closed Chrome and restarted it. After that the macro worked on all my browsers. However it isn't consistent. So sometimes it will stop all videos at once, and sometimes it only stops one, and you have to refresh the screen to make it stop them all. Not perfect but better than nothing.

This macro doesn't work at all for me.

I used the macro parameters to locate the page and to choose an attachment from the dropdown, yet the page gives this error of not being able to find the attachment.

From what I found when I researched this, the fix will be in Confluence Server version 6, which hasn't been released yet.

Can someone please confirm (if it is solved) in which server version this is solved? Fix Version/s only mentions OnDemand version
