This issue occurs for instances with a very large set of users (seen in a 25,000 user instance-130,000 users) and had also been seen in instances with smaller set of users (1700-2000).

      Currently, the only known workaround is to disable the plugin. To do so, go to: Confluence Admin > Manage Add-ons > All Add-ons and search for 'daily summary'

            This was resolved in 5.9.12. If you are on that version or newer, it may be that you are actually experiencing this related bug: CONFSERVER-45732 which is not yet resolved.

            Very interessting to see that even 'smaller' instances have this issue. Unfortunately, there is less hope since this bug is open for more than 2 years.

            We are seeing this issue with only 1747 users and 167 group. The definition of "very large" needs to be questioned. This is obviously affecting a "huge" portion of the confluence user base, not just the "large" user base.

            Also i'd like to point out of the 1747 user in our directory, only approx 170 are confluence users. So the job should really only be trying to run for those users, not the entire LDAP user base.

            This needs a resolution!

            We are also seeing the same thing, with ~20k users. Confluence is almost always using over 100% CPU. jtop tells us that it is the daily summary causing all this trouble. Please fix
