Currently we can only use embedding youtube vids on the pages. Unfortunately we have a lot of Giga Bytes of videos for internal use only. We'd like to use Confluence to display videos.

[CONFSERVER-28602] Add embedding video to Confluence.

I think Sherif Mansour has misunderstood the request; it wasn't to upload and store large videos to Confluence, but just embed.

Support has created this separate feature request: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-35074 for it

Why won't they fix it? It used to work with older browser. It was working with Firefox 22 & lower. How come it doesn't work with newer browser.

            Hi Sherif

            You note above:
"We have a lot of customers that use a service like http://wistia.com/ to host them and embed them via iframes etc... inside Confluence."

I'm having trouble doing that... no matter what kind of link from Wisita I put in the Confluence Widget Connector, the embed fails. Can you give me any information on the kind of url that your customers use from Wistia to get videos to work via the Confluence Widget Connector?

            Thanks very much

Yes, from memory they can restrict them to be prive videos (even though they are hosted in the cloud)

When you say that customers use services like wistia for hosting videos and embedding them on their Confluence site, do you know if that's for videos which should only be visible internally to said company?

Closing as this isn't something that we would consider core, but something that some simple integration could solve.

            Hi Matt,
We don't have any plans to turn confluence into an "internal YouTube" as an example - store gigabytes of videos. We always recommend you using another tool and just embedding them inside Confluence.

If they are internal use only, some suggestions:

            • List them as "Private" Youtube videos.
            • We have a lot of customers that use a service like http://wistia.com/ to host them and embed them via iframes etc... inside Confluence.
