Use Ctrl-Shift-V to 'paste unformatted'

      The convention is that Ctrl-v pastes and Ctrl-Shift-V pastes unformatted text.

      Atlassian Update – 6th October 2023

      Hi everyone,

      This is Charlie from the Confluence team. I'm pleased to let you know that we have released support to use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste without formatting in the Confluence Data Center 8.6 release.

      If your work involves transferring content from digital press releases, presentations, or databases into Confluence, you can now quickly strip the formatting by pasting the content using Ctrl+Shift+V (or Ctrl+Shift+Alt+V for Safari).

            A fix for this issue is available in Confluence Data Center 8.6.0.
            Upgrade now or check out the Release Notes to see what other issues are resolved.

            My name is Charlie and I work in Confluence Data Center.

            We are looking to chat with customers who regularly use Confluence Data Center or Server in a non-admin capacity (creating or reviewing pages and blogs etc.) to meet with us 1:1 for one hour to help inform our upcoming product roadmap.

            Implementing 'paste unformatted' text would move Confluence much closer to being a world-class editing and publishing system.  Please implement this feature as soon as possible.  Those of us who need to compile information in confluence really need this feature.  The workaround I need to go thru without this feature doubles my workload.  Here's the scenario.  I'm copying information from another environment such as a Word file, or a table in a web page.  Before I can paste it into Confluence, I have to paste it into a regular text editor, select it, copy it again, then paste it into confluence.  More than twice the steps.  And when I have a lot of information to compile, it turns a half hour of work into 1 or 2 hours of tedious, mind numbing, soul crushing despair.

            When I copy a text from OneNote and paste it on a confluence page, it pastes the text and an image version of the text. It's inefficient and annoying having to delete the image or press ctrl+z or paste it on the chrome search bar first and copy it from there to avoid this issue.
