    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

At the present moment Confluence only supports gif, jpeg, png and bmp (depending on browser support) image file formats.

Do we really need to upload dwg to Confluence? Maybe some other storing locations may be appropriate also but Confluence should be able to preview the files. Also for annotations (which would be cool in Confluence) there are some web based solutions out there. Only the integration is missing.

As an idea: we created a social CAD block library based on Confluence. If you click on the preview image of the dwg (or maybe other supported file formats in the future) you can insert the CAD block in your active AutoCAD. If you would like to use this solution please contact me. Maybe we could create an official Confluence add-in from this.

In the power industry in Australia many utilities use Microstation as thei8r required drawing format instead of AutoCAD so drawing viewer should be for both DWG and DGN file formats

This feature alone would help attract a whole new industry. We desperately need this in my company and I'm sure lots of others will benefit as well.

            Come on Atlassian

I know you might think voting and comments area way of measuring/assigning priority

but some things are just so obvious as expected functionality ...

Just do it - there are enough of us who need it!  You would make thousands of people very happy

Let me be up-front with you, the reason you don't have votes on this is because almost nobody in the industry even knows what Confluence is, let alone make it to the point of logging a vote in this obscure feature request page. If you surveyed every CAD user in the world, I can guarantee you wouldn't find one which couldn't see some kind of usefulness for Confluence in their CAD workflow.

If you implemented a useful DWG attachment handler in Confluence, I can guarantee you at least ten thousand active users from my one vote. Confluence provides an excellent way to document and manage your CAD standards, files and processes and really the only thing that's missing is DWG support.

This would be a great feature and enable our company to start using confluence not only for software development team but engineering in general.
