    Description

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      Symptoms

When you copy a link to a Confluence page, as per our instructions here, the link is created as a web URL link, rather than a normal space/page link. The result of this is:

      1. If you go to the linked page's info, that link is not listed as incoming
      2. If the page linked is ever renamed, then that link will not be automatically changed to the new location

This also happens if you are copying and pasting images that are stored as attachments in Confluence. In our documentation, it's mentioned that you can drag and drop images into the editor, which is the same as copy and paste.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Follow the steps here to copy and paste a link into a page
      2. Click on the link, and then click Edit, to find that it's a web URL link

      Workaround

Instead of copying and pasting the link, create the link manually.
