[CONFSERVER-27655] PDF's Rendering Italic Text When Text in Document is Not Italic

We also faced the same case where bold text in PDF is displayed both as bold and in italics. Not only Arial but Helvetica and Calibri are also affected.

We just noticed this behavior in the PDF macro as Vincent described:

Arial content embeded in a pdf file and displayed on a Confluence page via the pdf macro shows italicized whereas it's not italic in the pdf file itself

Older PDFs are however not affected, even when I reattach them.

Italic in general causes spacing issues on PDF export. It's collapsing the space between the last italic character and any inline text in normal paragraph format.

I'm reopening this bug since I'm able to reproduce this behaviour in Confluence 5.7 and Confluence Cloud with the file I've just attached: BLAZE_3.7_External_Final.pdf

            Hi All

Testing this with Confluence 5.4.1 and the documents supplied in this issue I am unable to reproduce. As such I'm going to close this issue out. If you are still having problems with this issue if you could provide the following:

The font used in all the documents that end up as italicized pdfs on Confluence is Arial. There is a document that used both Arial and Calibri. The Arial parts end up italicized, while the Calibri render non-italicized or normal/as expected.

            Screen capture of italicized text.
