It would be great if Confluence would also support the concept of a newsletter.
This feature would allow a specific confluence group to send an html/text email newsletter to all registered confluence users.
A bit like the daily update but the content is pushed by a specific confluence group. Of course the confluence users could enable or disable the receival of such an newsletter (again similar to the daily update).

We could really use such a feature for our BeJUG and JavaPolis users, for which we today have to use separate software !

      Thanks in advance

      Stephan

            Stephan,

A tricky part of this feature is moving users in and out of groups. Currently, this is only possible with administration rights - a non-admin user cannot do it themselves. This is one hurdle to implementing it as a plugin with the existing API.

Unfortunately, we have not scheduled this feature in yet.

            Cheers,
            Dave

Any news on this feature, I could really use this for JavaPolis !!!

            This is what I need:

            1) People should be able to (un)subscribe to the newsletter,
as a result people are placed in a new confluence group.

            2) A "newsletter" could be a news item (= blog post) which
also gets mailed to a specific group.

            3) People who receive the newsletter can unsubscribe directly
            from the newsletter they receive.

Could this be written using the Confluence plugin support ?

            Thanks for your input.

            Thanks for the suggestion Stephan,

Sounds really useful to me. Guess this is a quite common usecase.

            cheers,
            Jens
